The Speaker of the Katsina State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Nasir Yahaya Daura, has sponsored the education of ten (10) Hisbah women to study health sciences, aimed at enabling them to cater for fellow women under the Hisbah Board in Daura. He has also taken responsibility for the education of twenty (20) orphans who will study at the Police Children School, Daura.
The Speaker made this known during the graduation ceremony of 200 newly trained Hisbah officers, both male and female, held at the Low-Cost Juma’at Mosque in Daura, after undergoing six months of intensive training under the supervision of professionals.
Hon. Daura assured the Hisbah leadership that the Katsina State Government will continue to provide full support for the board to carry out its noble responsibilities, including moral guidance, community discipline, and the fight against immorality.
He further revealed that the State Assembly had recently amended the law establishing the Hisbah Board, strengthening its mandate to effectively discharge its duties across Katsina State.
In addition, the Speaker officially became a member of the Hisbah Board in Daura Local Government after collecting his membership form from the local leadership.
He concluded by urging the Hisbah to continue offering prayers for lasting peace and prosperity in Katsina State.
