In a display of swift and effective action, the Katsina State Police Command, led by CP Aliyu Abubakar Musa,achieved a significant breakthrough on March 25, 2024. During a routine patrol near Masiga village, Kankara LGA, operatives from the Kankara Divisional Police Headquarters successfully rescued five kidnapped victims.
The rescued individuals, identified as Bashir Malam Sani (25), Kamaladdeen Sani (23), Musa Muhammad (22), Sagir Umar (20), and Muntari Sama’ila (20), all from Magamin Mai Tarko, Maru LGA of Zamfara State, had been abducted while traveling from FCT Abuja to Zamfara State on March 9, 2024. Their assailants ambushed them along Kushere village in Zamfara State and forcibly took them to the forests of Katsina, where they were kept in chains.
Thanks to the vigilance and dedication of the police operatives, the kidnapped victims were located and rescued from their captors.
Following their rescue, the victims are currently undergoing medical treatment and are expected to be reunited with their families soon.
ASP Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu, the Police Public Relations Officer of the Katsina State Command, expressed gratitude for the successful operation and assured the public that efforts are underway to apprehend the perpetrators responsible for this heinous act.
