Katsina State Police Command has successfully foiled a kidnapping attempt and rescued seven victims in a dramatic late-night operation. On the night of August 17th, armed bandits ambushed a J5 motor vehicle on the Kukar Babangida bridge along Magama-Katsina Road, kidnapping its seven occupants and setting the vehicle ablaze.
Responding with speed and precision, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Jibia mobilized a joint task force comprising police operatives, members of the Katsina State Community Watch Corps (KSCWC), and local vigilantes. The team engaged the kidnappers in a fierce gun battle, resulting in the safe rescue of all the victims.
One victim sustained a gunshot injury to the shoulder during the attack and is currently receiving medical care. The Katsina State Police Commissioner, CP Aliyu Abubakar Musa, commended the officers for their bravery and urged the public to continue supporting the police with vital information to combat crime effectively.
The Katsina State Command remains committed to safeguarding lives and property and is intensifying efforts to apprehend the culprits behind this heinous act.
