Katsina Police Mourn Buhari, Mobilize Massive Security Ahead of Burial

The Katsina State Police Command has extended heartfelt condolences to the government and people of Katsina State, as well as Nigerians at large, over the death of former President Muhammadu Buhari, describing his passing as a national loss of monumental proportions.

In a press release issued on Monday, July 14, 2025, and signed by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu, the Commissioner of Police, CP Bello Shehu, psc, fdc, MNIM, paid tribute to the former leader, acknowledging his immense contributions to national development and the advancement of the country.

To ensure a safe and dignified burial in Daura, Buhari’s hometown, the command announced a comprehensive deployment of personnel in strategic locations within Daura Local Government Area and beyond.

“In collaboration with other sister security agencies and under the coordination of the AIG Zone 14, Katsina, adequate security arrangements have been put in place to ensure a peaceful and hitch-free burial,” the statement noted.

The Command urged the public to cooperate with security operatives and maintain calm, as efforts are being intensified to guarantee safety throughout the burial activities.

“We pray that Allah (SWA) grants the former President eternal rest and that his legacy continues to serve as a beacon for national unity, service, and integrity,” the statement concluded.
