Katsina State Police has intensified efforts to apprehend suspects involved in a tragic incident in Mairana village, Kusada Local Government Area. According to a statement issued on January 5, 2025, by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), ASP Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu, the attack occurred on January 4, when armed bandits targeted the residence of Surajo Rufai, Chairman of Miyetti Allah.
Police operatives, led by the DPO Kusada, responded promptly, engaging the bandits in a gun duel at Kofa village. The superior firepower of the police forced the assailants to flee. Tragically, two lives were lost during the incident.
The Katsina State Police Command assured the public that all efforts are being made to apprehend the fleeing suspects and ensure justice is served. Investigations are ongoing, and further updates will be provided.
The command commended the resilience of its operatives and called on residents to assist by providing credible information that could aid the investigation.
