Katsina Police Foil Two Kidnap Attempts, Rescue Six Victims in Daring Operations

In a fierce showdown on September 28th, 2024, the Katsina State Police Command, in collaboration with the military, thwarted two kidnap attempts, rescuing six victims across two Local Government Areas.

The first rescue occurred at 8:15 AM on the Jibia-Kauran Namoda road. Responding to a distress call, police and military operatives engaged the kidnappers in a heated gunfight, rescuing four victims. Sadly, one victim succumbed to injuries sustained during the attack.

A second incident unfolded earlier that morning at 7:00 AM on the Funua-Gusau road in Faskari. Swift police action saved two victims, though one tragically lost their life in the crossfire.

Efforts to apprehend the kidnappers are ongoing, as the Katsina Police intensify their pursuit.

ASP Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu, PPRO for the Commissioner of Police, Katsina State Command, confirmed the operations, reiterating the force’s commitment to restoring peace and security in the region.
