In a remarkable display of quick response and bravery, the Katsina State Police Command successfully foiled three kidnapping attempts by suspected armed bandits in Danmusa and Faskari LGAs on October 7th, 2024. A total of eight kidnapped victims, including women and children, were rescued unharmed.
The first attempt occurred around 11:00 am when four armed bandits tried to abduct two women near Matarau village in Danmusa LGA. Shortly after, at 10:30 am, another group of bandits blocked the Marabar Bangori-Unguwar Boka road, kidnapping four individuals. By 2:30 pm, two women and their children were abducted at the Unguwar Kafa junction along the Yankara-Faskari road.
Police operatives swiftly responded to distress calls and engaged the kidnappers in a fierce gunfight, forcing them to flee with injuries. All victims were safely rescued.
Commissioner of Police commended his officers’ bravery, reiterating the command’s commitment to the fight against crime.
