In a bold pre-dawn operation, the Katsina State Police Command successfully thwarted a kidnapping attempt in Faru village, Jibia LGA, rescuing a victim without harm.
Around 1:15 AM, a distress call alerted the Jibia Divisional Police Headquarters to a bandit raid in Faru village. Swiftly mobilizing a joint force of police operatives, Katsina State Community Watch Corps (KSCWC), and local vigilantes, the team launched an immediate counter-assault on the attackers. Engaging the bandits in a fierce gunfight, the security forces not only rescued the abducted individual but also forced the assailants to retreat, leaving them with severe gunshot wounds.
Katsina State Commissioner of Police, CP Aliyu Abubakar Musa, commended the officers’ bravery and urged continued vigilance in the fight against kidnapping and banditry. Efforts are ongoing to apprehend the fleeing suspects as the state intensifies its crackdown on criminal activities.
