Katsina Police Foil Bandits’ Attack in Jibia, Rescue Six Kidnapped Victims

In a swift response to a late-night assault on October 19th, 2024, Katsina State Police Command, in collaboration with the military, vigilantes, and the Katsina State Community Watch Corps (KSCWC), foiled a bandits’ attack in Unguwar Batsaka, Jibia.

The heavily armed bandits stormed the area at 11:25 PM, firing sporadically with the intent to kidnap residents.

A fierce gun battle ensued, forcing the attackers to flee with gunshot wounds.

Six kidnapped victims were rescued and rushed to the hospital, though one, Rabe Mai Shayi, tragically succumbed to his injuries.

The police are intensifying efforts to apprehend the fleeing bandits.
