In response to escalating violence during nationwide protests, the Katsina State Police Command has imposed a strict 24-hour curfew in Dutsinma LGA and a 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. curfew across the rest of the state.
This move aims to prevent further chaos, ensure public safety, and maintain order.
Contrary to circulating rumors, the police have confirmed no fatalities resulted from their actions.
However, over 50 individuals have been arrested for vandalism and looting.
The command urges parents to advise their children against engaging in unlawful activities and calls for public cooperation to restore peace.
ASP Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu, PPRO, emphasized the commitment to upholding law and order and warned of decisive actions against curfew violators.
