Katsina State is witnessing a crackdown on crime, as police operatives make significant arrests in separate operations across the state.
Notorious Drug Dealer Nabbed: On August 23, 2024, at dawn, the Katsina Police Command struck a major blow against drug trafficking, arresting a 35-year-old notorious drug dealer, Salisu Jibrin, in Oni ‘Yasu village, Rimi LGA. In his possession were 1,330 suspected Exol tablets and 150 Tramadol pills. The suspect has confessed and will soon face justice.
Motorcycle Thieves and Receiver Caught: In another operation on August 15, 2024, police intercepted Abdullahi Haruna, a suspected motorcycle thief, during a routine patrol on the Jibia-Katsina road. Haruna, known for drugging unsuspecting commercial riders before stealing their bikes, led police to arrest two more suspects, while efforts to apprehend accomplices continue.
Cable Vandalism Foiled: On August 27, 2024, police arrested Aliyu Aliyu, 18, in connection with the theft of electric cables from a Katsina village. His accomplice remains at large as investigations intensify.
