Arrest of Killers of 12-Year-Old Boy in Dankama
Katsina Police Command has arrested two suspects, Muttaka Garba alias Auta (24) and Yusuf Usman alias Kwalwa (20), for the kidnapping and murder of Salihu Sadi, a 12-year-old boy, in Dankama town, Kaita LGA. The boy was abducted on January 11 while running an errand for his mother. Despite the family’s efforts to meet the kidnappers’ N25 million ransom demand, the boy was killed. The suspects confessed to the crime, and the police recovered the phone used for ransom negotiations.
Counterfeit Currency Syndicate Busted
A major fraud syndicate has been dismantled following the arrest of Aliyu Isah in possession of counterfeit dollar notes. This led to the apprehension of additional suspects and the recovery of 1,018 counterfeit $100 bills. Investigations are ongoing to uncover more details about their operations.
Thief Nabbed by Governor’s Convoy
A thief was apprehended by Governor Dikko Radda’s convoy after vandalizing vehicles at Katsina Teaching Hospital. Abdullahi Ali (51) was caught with ₦650,000 and stolen items. He will face prosecution soon.

Isma’il Isah, a vigilante member, was arrested in possession of 15 AK-47 rifle magazines intended for sale. Investigations revealed his ties to illegal arms trade in Bakori LGA.

Four suspects, including a bank staffer, were arrested for using SIM-swapping techniques to steal money from bank accounts. Recovered items include 32 SIM cards and victims’ details.

Police raided crime hotspots in Katsina and Funtua LGAs, arresting 14 suspects linked to armed robbery, drug peddling, and thuggery. Recovered items include weapons, Indian hemp, and tramadol.
