Katsina Police Command Foils Kidnap Attempts, Rescues Victims in Daring Operations

In a relentless crackdown on kidnapping and banditry, Katsina State Police Command, led by Commissioner of Police CP Aliyu Abubakar Musa, achieved significant victories with the rescue of three kidnapped victims in two separate incidents.

On August 31, 2024, around 10:00 AM, alert operatives from the Danmusa Divisional Police swiftly responded to an emergency report of armed bandits attacking Gandun Sarki village in Danmusa LGA. The officers, engaged in a fierce gun battle with the assailants, outmatched the criminals who fled with bullet wounds, leaving behind their operational motorcycle. Two kidnapped victims were safely rescued, unharmed.

In another daring rescue on August 30, 2024, at Kwanar Makera Bridge in Jibia LGA, police operatives foiled a bandit attack and rescued another victim, who was treated for a gunshot wound sustained during the encounter.

The Commissioner of Police commended the officers for their bravery and reaffirmed the command’s commitment to a safer Katsina. Efforts to apprehend the fleeing suspects continue.
