In a series of successful operations, the Katsina State Police Command, under the leadership of Commissioner Aliyu Abubakar Musa, has dealt a significant blow to crime in the region, arresting multiple criminal syndicates and recovering stolen items.
Armed Robbery Syndicate Busted:
A 6-man gang of notorious armed robbers, led by Ismail Hamza alias Dawale, was apprehended after a string of violent robberies in Filin Polo quarters.
The gang, armed with knives and cutlasses, had terrorized the area, robbing residents of cash and valuables, including ₦1.85 million and livestock. Their luck ran out after a swift police operation, leading to their arrest and the recovery of the stolen goods.
Motorcycle Thieves Nailed:
In another operation on August 17th, a 5-man syndicate specializing in stealing motorcycles from mosques during prayers was busted. The gang, led by Hamza Abdullahi alias Malians, dismantled stolen bikes and sold the parts.
The police recovered one motorcycle and other incriminating items.Kidnapper of a 6-Year-Old Boy Arrested:
On August 17th, the command rescued a 6-year-old boy kidnapped by 21-year-old Halilu Yusuf.
Yusuf had demanded a ₦2 million ransom but was tracked down by the police and arrested, with the boy safely returned to his family.Tricycle Thief Nabbed:
The police also arrested Ibrahim Umar Gure, a notorious tricycle thief, on August 9th. Gure was caught trying to flee with a stolen tricycle and confessed to the crime, implicating accomplices still at large.
