Katsina NSCDC Trains Personnel on Map Reading, Digital Technology to Boost Security Operations

The Katsina State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has embarked on an intensive two-day training on Map Reading and Digital Technology to enhance the operational capacity of its personnel in tackling modern security challenges.

The training, which runs from August 13 to 14 at the NSCDC Headquarters Conference Hall in Katsina, was organized in partnership with African Cyber Intelligence Solutions, a non-governmental organization specializing in cybersecurity awareness.

Participants drawn from various units, departments, area commands, and outposts are receiving hands-on knowledge in map reading, intelligence gathering using digital tools, and mobile phone tracking analysis.

State Commandant Aminu Datti Ahmad, fsf, MADM, FCAI, lauded NSCDC Commandant General Professor A.A. Audi, mni, OFR, for driving a new era of professionalism in the Corps. He stressed that training and retraining remain key strategies to improving personnel efficiency and effectiveness, pledging continuous capacity-building programs under his leadership.

Representative of African Cyber Intelligence Solutions, Mr. Yakubu Makama, highlighted the urgent need for collaboration between security agencies and tech experts to combat the fast-evolving wave of cyber threats.

Deputy Commandant (Administration and Personnel) Nuhu Dalha noted that regular training would sharpen operational skills, while Deputy Commandant (Private Guard Companies) Aliyu Abdullahi commended both the Command and its partners for making the program a success.

The NSCDC says the initiative is part of its broader mission to modernize security operations in Katsina and beyond.
