The Katsina State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has recorded another breakthrough in its fight against crime, with the arrest of an 18-year-old suspect in possession of hard drugs at Sabuwar Unguwa, Katsina Local Government Area.
The suspect, identified as Hamza Ahmad, was apprehended on Monday, August 11, 2025, by the Command’s special surveillance team.
Confirming the arrest, the State Commandant, Aminu Datti Ahmad (fsf, MADM, FCAI), described the operation as part of renewed strategies to rid Katsina of crime, drug abuse, and trafficking, which he said pose serious threats to the socio-economic wellbeing of society.
“The Command will not tolerate these acts. Our personnel are on 24-hour surveillance to flush out drug traffickers, vandals, economic saboteurs, and other criminals across the state,” Ahmad assured.
The suspect has reportedly confessed to the crime and is currently under investigation.
Commandant Ahmad thanked the public for their continued cooperation and urged residents to provide credible intelligence to support security agencies in tackling criminal activities.
