Katsina LG Chairman Defends ₦9.9bn 2026 Budget Before State Assembly

The Chairman of Katsina Local Government Area, Isah Miqdad, on Friday appeared before the Katsina State House of Assembly to defend the proposed 2026 budget of the council valued at ₦9,919,865,052.95.

Miqdad described the proposed budget as a carefully structured financial roadmap aimed at accelerating development, strengthening service delivery, and improving the quality of life of residents across the local government.

According to him, the budget reflects the administration’s commitment to prudence, transparency, and purposeful leadership at the grassroots level.

“This budget is not merely a financial document but a strategic blueprint for progress at the grassroots,” he said during the defence.

The council boss noted that a major highlight of the proposal is the significant allocation to capital development projects, which he said would translate into visible improvements in infrastructure, essential public services, and initiatives designed to stimulate local economic growth.

He emphasized that the goal of the administration is to ensure that every naira allocated in the budget delivers meaningful impact for the people of Katsina State.

He expressed optimism that with the support of stakeholders and residents, the council would successfully translate the proposed budget into measurable progress for the people.
