In a bid to foster effective communication and mutual understanding between immigration personnel and local communities, the Comptroller of Immigration Service, Katsina State Command, CIS Mohammed Adamu Mahmoud, in partnership with the National Institute for Cultural Orientation (NICO), North West Zone, hosted the 2024 edition of the Nigeria Indigenous Language Training in the Barrack.
The four-week program, held at Command Headquarters, focused on enhancing the language skills of personnel in Hausa, Yoruba, and Igbo.
At the closing ceremony, Comptroller Mahmoud praised participants for their dedication, stressing the importance of language proficiency in intelligence gathering and community engagement.
NICO’s Zonal Coordinator, Barrister Ibrahim Musa Kakamba, lauded Mahmoud’s efforts and emphasized language’s role in fostering national unity.
Certificates were awarded to participants, with DCI Sulaimanu Yusuf expressing gratitude to resource persons and urging continued improvement in language skills.
