Katsina Immigration Chief Engages Officers, Nigerien Association for Harmony

The Comptroller of Immigration Service, Katsina State Command, CIS Adamu Mohammed Mahmoud, pcc FCILRM, cna held consecutive meetings on 25th July 2024 with officers serving at the Katsina Local Government Divisional Office of ECOWAS and African Affairs Section, as well as with executive members of the Nigerien Association residing in Katsina.

During the meeting with the Divisional officers, the Comptroller emphasized the importance of discharging their duties with discipline, professionalism, integrity, and decorum.

He urged them to shun extortion and focus on information gathering and curbing human trafficking and smuggling of migrants activities.

ACI Abdul Aliyu commended the Comptroller’s efforts and reminded officers to adhere to the rules of engagement and method of operation in accordance with extant rules.

The meeting concluded with an interactive session where officers contributed their insights.

In the meeting with the Nigerien Association’s executive members, the Comptroller warmly welcomed them and stressed the significance of peaceful coexistence between Nigeriens residing in Katsina and the state.

He emphasized the importance of proper documentation, compliance with existing rules and regulations, and warned against engaging in activities that may lead to problems.

Alhaji Garba Tunfafi, a patron of the association, expressed gratitude for the important updates and assured continuous support and cooperation.

He promised that the association would remain law-abiding and contribute to the development of the state and country.

The meeting concluded with a group photograph session.
