Katsina State Government has swiftly acted on safety recommendations by the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) to secure the collapsed Katsina–Batsari bridge, installing a concrete reflective barrier across both lanes to block all vehicular access.
The FRSC Sector Commander in Katsina, Corps Commander Maxwell K. Lede, confirmed the development on Sunday evening, August 10, 2025, noting that the measure is aimed at safeguarding motorists and preventing road traffic crashes at the site.
Lede commended the state government’s prompt intervention and urged road users to continue using the earlier recommended alternative routes. He also appreciated the media for their role in raising awareness, which he described as a testament to the shared commitment to protecting lives and property on the highways.
