The Katsina State Government has rolled out fresh security reinforcements, approving a major procurement of motorcycles, vehicles, and tactical equipment to intensify the fight against banditry and kidnapping.

At its 12th Regular Meeting chaired by Governor Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, the State Executive Council endorsed the purchase of 700 motorcycles, 20 Hilux vehicles, and 8 Toyota Land Cruiser Buffalo armoured pick-up trucks.

Also approved were Security Arms Machines, Tactical Carry Cases, Slings, Tools, Clearing Kits, and Operational Manuals, all to boost the capacity of the Katsina State Community Watch Corps working jointly with the Department of State Services (DSS) and other security agencies.

Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Dr. Nasiru Mu’azu Danmusa, told journalists that the new assets are designed to give security operatives greater mobility, especially in rural areas where conventional vehicles often struggle.

> “Security is our first, second, and third priority,” Dr. Danmusa declared. “We are fighting these bandits in every corner and will continue to push until Katsina becomes a safe state where economic growth can flourish.”

The Council emphasized that the investment reflects Governor Radda’s tough stance on insecurity, ensuring operatives are better equipped to patrol vulnerable communities and repel ambushes.

Dr. Danmusa appealed to residents for continuous prayers and support, assuring them that government will not relent in restoring lasting peace and stability across Katsina State.
