Katsina Governor Urges Farmers to Embrace Agro-Entrepreneurship for Economic Growth

Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has called on farmers to view farming as agro-entrepreneurship to boost productivity and economic empowerment.

Speaking through Chief of Staff Hon. Jabiru Abdullahi Salisu Tsauri (Lamidon Katsina), the governor made this appeal during the closing ceremony of a two-day training program, jointly organized by the Katsina State Government and Korea’s Saemul Undong Foundation.

The initiative trained 350 farmers from Matazu, Dutsinma, and Katsina Local Governments in rice and wheat production, aiming to enhance their skills and improve their communities’ agricultural output.

Radda’s administration, committed to fostering collaborations like this, emphasizes agriculture’s role in curbing food shortages and generating income for farmers and the state.

The training featured sessions on sustainable economic growth, crop management, and community development, with contributions from local and international experts.

Governor also received donations of hospital equipment for the benefiting local governments.

This collaboration follows Governor Radda’s visit to Korea, where he sought the foundation’s support in advancing Katsina’s agricultural sector.

Saemul Undong Foundation’s representative, Mr. Lee Kyunbok, expressed optimism about the partnership’s potential to uplift Katsina’s farmers and transform their communities through knowledge-sharing and capacity building.

With continuous support from the state government, farmers are expected to maximize this training to drive economic growth in Katsina and beyond.
