In a groundbreaking move to support youth entrepreneurship, the Katsina State government has pledged to set up a fully equipped welding workshop for a talented young girl from the Daura emirate.
This student, who has been actively involved in producing school furniture under the AGILE Program, has already raised over one hundred and six thousand naira from her welding work.
Governor Mallam Dikko Umaru Radda made this announcement at the official flag-off of the third phase of the school improvement grant disbursement, amounting to over eight point four billion naira, to one hundred selected secondary schools in Rimi.
Dr. Mustapha Shehu, the state coordinator of the AGILE Program, highlighted this significant support, emphasizing the government’s commitment to youth empowerment.
In addition to this individual support, the state government will also establish another welding workshop for four other students involved in the iron furniture production, who have resolved to jointly set up a welding business outlet.
Governor Radda urged all young people in the state to enroll in the youth craft village to acquire necessary skills for better business outcomes.
Earlier, Dr. Mustapha Shehu noted that 2,900 technical school students across the state are engaged in furniture production under the AGILE Program.
He praised the governor’s support, which has positioned Katsina as the leading state in implementing the AGILE Program nationwide.
