Faskari Represents Governor Radda, Warns Against Grazing Encroachment, Urges Vigilance on Drug Abuse
KATSINA – In a heartfelt Eid el-Kabir message delivered on behalf of His Excellency, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, the Governor of Katsina State, the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Abdullahi Garba Faskari, extended warm greetings to Muslims across the state, calling for peace, sacrifice, and collective vigilance against societal threats.
Speaking at the 2025 Eid el-Kabir celebrations held on Saturday, 7th June (11th Dhul Hijjah, 1446 AH), Governor Radda hailed the significance of the festival as a time to reflect on the obedience and unwavering faith of Prophet Ibrahim (AS). He urged residents to emulate those values by fostering unity and mutual respect across all communities in Katsina State.
“I extend warm congratulations to His Royal Highness the Emir, our traditional rulers, and the good people of Katsina State on this noble occasion,” the Governor stated through Faskari. “Eid el-Kabir reminds us of the essence of sacrifice and obedience to Allah. Let us promote peace and compassion as we celebrate.”
Governor Radda congratulated pilgrims from Katsina currently performing Hajj in Saudi Arabia and prayed for their safe return. He used the opportunity to draw attention to critical public health and security matters.
With the rains now in full swing, citizens were urged to maintain hygiene and ensure proper waste disposal to avoid flooding and disease outbreaks. He also issued a stern warning against illegal encroachment into grazing reserves and forest areas, noting that a Task Force Committee and a special court have been empowered to take swift punitive action against violators.
On security, Governor Radda commended the relentless efforts of Katsina’s security personnel in combating banditry and insecurity. “We appreciate your sacrifices and remain committed to supporting you. The fight against insecurity is a shared responsibility. We must all be vigilant and report any suspicious activity,” he emphasized.
The governor also expressed deep concern over the rise of drug abuse among youth and called on religious and community leaders to step up awareness campaigns. “This menace is destroying lives and weakening the future of our society. We must unite to combat it,” he warned.
Reaffirming his administration’s commitment to development, Governor Radda assured citizens of continued efforts to improve education, healthcare, agriculture, infrastructure, and youth empowerment.
In his closing remarks, he called on the people to celebrate Eid with moderation, assist the less privileged, and continue to support the government in its drive for peace and progress.
“Allah ya ba mu lafiya da zaman lafiya. Allah ya ba mu damina mai albarka,” he concluded.
