Katsina Farmers Rejoice as Federal Government Begins Input Distribution

Farmers across Katsina State have started receiving agricultural inputs at a 25% subsidy as part of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s commitment to bolstering food security. The distribution, which kicked off in Funtua zone, saw four major centers set up in Funtua, Bakori, Malumfashi, and Mahuta to ensure smooth implementation.

Farmers like Ibrahim Idris from Malumfashi and Ibrahim Sabiu from Kankara expressed their satisfaction with the high-quality fertilizers, chemicals, and seeds supplied. Each farmer paid only 25% of the total cost, with the remaining 75% covered by the federal government, ensuring affordability and access.

Agro-dealers, such as Sholty Nigeria Limited, praised the government’s efforts, assuring that all inputs meet the required standards. The federal ministry’s representatives supervised the exercise to ensure transparency and fairness.

With thousands of farmers flocking to collection centers, the distribution is hailed as a significant step towards enhanced agricultural productivity, offering hope for a bountiful harvest this season.
