The Katsina State Executive Council, under the leadership of Governor Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, held its 16th meeting on Thursday, October 23, 2025, where several major resolutions were reached to enhance citizens’ welfare, youth development, and infrastructural growth across the state.
According to details from the meeting, the Council approved a Youth Empowerment Program aimed at training young people in various vocational skills under the “Building Your Future” initiative. The program seeks to promote self-reliance among youths and boost employment opportunities.
In a related development, the Council also endorsed the rehabilitation and upgrade of facilities at the Katsina State Youth Craft Village, a move expected to strengthen technical and vocational education in the state.
To further support health and nutrition, the Council approved the release of ₦700 million as counterpart funding for the second phase of the Accelerating Nutrition Results in Nigeria (ANRiN) project. The initiative targets improved nutrition and healthcare for pregnant women, nursing mothers, adolescent girls, and children under five suffering from malnutrition.
Additionally, in a bid to cushion the effect of rising living costs, the government approved the enhancement of the Rumbun Sauki scheme, which provides affordable goods to civil servants and the general public. The new measures include reducing commodity prices and constructing a modern warehouse in Malumfashi to ensure better distribution.
The Council also gave approval for the renovation of 740 Friday mosques across Katsina State, reinforcing the administration’s commitment to community development and religious infrastructure.
As part of Governor Radda’s Urban Renewal Program, the Council sanctioned the construction of a new road linking Polo Ground to Ring Roadwithin Katsina city, designed to ease traffic and support urban modernization.
These resolutions, according to the Council, reflect Governor Radda’s vision of building a more prosperous, self-reliant, and inclusive Katsina State.
