In a bold move to modernize state-owned media, the Katsina State Government has allocated over ₦1 billion for the upgrade of Katsina State Television (KTTV) in its 2025 budget.
This announcement was made by the Commissioner for Information and Culture, Dr. Bala Salisu Zango, during the maiden end-of-year walima organized by KTTV. The event, attended by government officials, former staff, and stakeholders, was a celebration of the station’s achievements and a rallying call for greater commitment to excellence.
Dr. Zango commended KTTV’s General Manager, Malam Abba Zayyan, for his dedication and transformative leadership, emphasizing Governor Dikko Umaru Radda’s unwavering support for enhancing the state’s media landscape. He urged staff to remain committed and strive for higher standards in their operations.
Malam Abba Zayyan highlighted the station’s milestones under his leadership and called for continued teamwork to achieve even greater success. He expressed gratitude to the staff for their support and cooperation in driving KTTV’s progress.
Speaking at the event, NUJ State Chairman Comrade Tukur Hassan Dan Ali and RATTAWU State Chairman Comrade Buhari Ibrahim Rafukka lauded Malam Abba Zayyan’s efforts, describing him as a visionary leader. They encouraged staff to give their full backing to his administration to ensure KTTV reaches its full potential.
Other dignitaries, including Malam Abdulkarim Hamza, Director of Administration and Supply, and NUJ KTTV Chapel Chairman Aminu Garba Dandagoro, echoed these sentiments, stressing the need for collective effort to achieve the station’s objectives.
The walima, designed to motivate staff and recognize their contributions, served as a platform to reinforce KTTV’s commitment to delivering high-quality media services to the people of Katsina State.
