The Katsina State Chapter of the Nigeria Council of Ulama has set a bold new standard for Islamic financial obligations.
According to a statement by Secretary General Shehu Abubakar Adoro, the zakkat nisab for the 1445 AH Islamic year has been affirmed at an impressive two million one hundred thousand naira. But that’s not all.
The council also declared that a minimum sum of thirty-one thousand five hundred naira must be given out as dourey, emphasizing the importance of generosity and support within the community.
In a move to address critical matters, the council highlighted that compensation for death, known as “Diyyah,” now stands at a substantial one hundred and twenty-six million naira.
