The Katsina Police Command, led by CP Aliyu Abubakar Musa, successfully thwarted a kidnapping attempt on the Dandume-Sabuwa Road.
Swift response, coordinated by DPO Dandume, SP Emmanuel Zangina, in collaboration with the military, led to the rescue of a kidnapped victim and the neutralization of Auwalu Mahaukaci, a notorious bandit kingpin terrorizing the region.
The incident occurred at 0545 hrs when armed bandits blocked the road, attempting to kidnap unsuspecting commuters.
Police and military team engaged the bandits in a fierce gunfight, ensuring the victim’s safe rescue and transporting them to the hospital for medical attention.
The fallen bandit leader, Mahaukaci, known for his reign of terror in Dandume LGA, was identified at the scene.
CP Aliyu commended the operatives for their bravery and reiterated the command’s dedication to safeguarding Katsina State’s residents.
