In a bold political declaration that reverberated across Katsina State, the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Nasir Yahaya Daura, announced the unanimous endorsement of Governor Dikko Umaru Radda for a second term in office.
Addressing a packed press conference at the Assembly Complex, Speaker Daura revealed that all 34 members of the House have resolved not only to support Radda’s re-election bid in 2027 but have also pledged to purchase his nomination form when the time comes.
“This decision is rooted in Governor Radda’s unwavering commitment to securing our state, transforming agriculture, improving healthcare and education, and ensuring grassroots development across all 361 wards,” Daura declared.
Citing landmark achievements such as the establishment of the Community Watch Corps, a multi-billion naira Agricultural Mechanization Centre, massive school and hospital renovations, and respect for legislative independence, the Speaker said the House’s endorsement was based on performance, not politics.
“With visible progress in peace restoration, food security, digital education, and infrastructure, the governor has not only governed—he has delivered,” Daura added.
The Speaker concluded with a passionate call to citizens and stakeholders to rally behind Governor Radda for continuity, saying, “This is not just about re-election. It’s about building on a vision that works.”
The event marks a historic moment in Katsina’s political landscape, with the entire legislature aligning behind the governor’s leadership ahead of 2027.
