The Katsina State House of Assembly Committee on Special Services (SDGs) has called on the State Government to increase funding for the Katsina State Community and Social Development Agency (CSDA) to enhance its support for community-driven micro-projects under the KT-CARES Programme.
The appeal was made by Hon. Ghali Garba Gidan Mutum Daya, Chairman of the Committee, after concluding an oversight visit to inspect projects implemented across local communities.
Hon. Ghali Garba praised the CSDA for its transformative impact, highlighting improved schools, health facilities, potable water, and drainage systems in underserved areas. He emphasized that additional funding would empower the Agency to scale its efforts and reach more communities with critical development projects.
Commending the CSDA team for their dedication, he encouraged them to maintain their exemplary work.
Speaking during the visit, CSDA General Manager Alhaji Muhammad Dikko Abdul’aziz expressed gratitude for the Committee’s oversight and Governor Mallam Dikko Umar Radda’s proactive support. He noted that the Governor’s timely release of funds in January 2024 enabled swift project execution and secured significant World Bank reimbursements.
The Committee, joined by CSDA officials, inspected several completed projects, reinforcing the importance of sustained investment in community development for a more prosperous Katsina State.
