In a landmark operation, the Katsina State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission has arrested Alhaji Muheeb Ibrahim Bamidele, a former Permanent Secretary of the Department of Banking and Finance, now serving in the Local Government Service Commission, along with five others, for alleged misappropriation of N136,126,970.
The arrests, announced in a statement by the Commission’s Secretary, Dr. Jamilu M. Abdulsalam, follow an investigation into irregularities in the accounts of the Department of Banking and Finance during Bamidele’s tenure.
The Commission described the operation as a bold step in its mission to uphold transparency and accountability across public institutions. “No one is above the law. The investigation is ongoing, and more details will be shared as they unfold,” the statement read.
Public reaction has been swift, with citizens praising the anti-corruption agency for taking decisive action against high-profile figures. Many view the move as a reflection of the state government’s commitment to rooting out corruption.
