Katsina State Safety and Road Traffic Authority (KASSAROTA) Director General, Major Rimi (Rtd.), has urged residents to prioritize road safety by avoiding hazardous practices that compromise the state’s roads and pathways.
In a press statement released through KASSAROTA’s Public Relations Officer, Abubakar Marwana Kofar Sauri, Major Rimi warned against dumping sand, soil, or waste materials on roads, emphasizing that such actions increase accident risks and jeopardize public safety.
The DG also directed individuals washing vehicles on public roads to stop immediately, labeling the practice as a violation of existing regulations. He further called on street vendors and traders occupying roads and pedestrian walkways to relocate, stating these spaces are designated strictly for vehicles and pedestrians.
Expressing gratitude to Governor Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, PhD, for his support in empowering KASSAROTA, Major Rimi appealed to all motorists and residents to cooperate with the authority’s safety initiatives. He reassured the public of KASSAROTA personnel’s dedication to maintaining road safety and enforcing regulations.
The Director General also cautioned violators, stating they would face strict penalties under the law, as KASSAROTA intensifies efforts to ensure hazard-free and orderly roads across Katsina State.
