Kano State Solid Minerals Ministry Achieves Significant Milestones– Hon Safyanu

The Ministry of Solid Minerals and Natural Resources in Kano State has recorded notable achievements, according to Commissioner Alhaji Safiyanu Hamza Kachako. The commissioner expressed satisfaction with the mutual understanding between journalists and the ministry, which has enabled them to reach their target audience effectively.

The ministry has created a conducive environment to attract investors and maximize revenue for the state.

”This is evident in the establishment of a well-decorated showroom, showcasing Kano’s solid minerals, which are in high demand globally.

Key achievements of the ministry include the creation of a Task Force to attend to security-related activities and ensure easy business operations for investors. Additionally, the ministry has developed an E-Data Online Platform, although it is still experiencing technical issues.

The ministry has also submitted a proposal to the Executive Governor to block revenue leakages.

Furthermore, the ministry participated in several workshops, including the Miners Week in Abuja and inland containers licensing. Over 300 licenses have been issued, with 50 operational and many illegal miners registering.

Despite the progress made, the ministry acknowledges that many miners in Kano are not from the state.

The commissioner encouraged women to participate in mining activities, promoting inclusivity and diversity in the sector.

The commissioner’s interactive session with journalists highlighted the ministry’s commitment to transparency and accountability.

The achievements of the Ministry of Solid Minerals and Natural Resources in Kano State demonstrate its dedication to promoting the state’s solid minerals sector and contributing to the state’s economic growth.
