The Director General of the Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Lamin Rabi’u Danbappa, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Alhaji Sha’aibu Jibrin Gargai and Malam Ibrahim Ali Tiga, both pilgrims from Bebeji Local Government Area.
Alhaji Lamin Rabi’u made the statement today during a condolence visit to the families of the deceased in Gargai and Tiga towns, respectively.
In a statement signed and made available to newsmen by Sulaiman Abdullahi Dederi Board Public Relations officer.
Alhaji Sha’aibu Jibrin Gargai, aged 65, is survived by one wife, who sadly passed away in Makkah. Malam Ibrahim Ali Tiga, aged 40, is survived by two wives and twelve children. He tragically died in a road accident while traveling from Lagos to Kano, shortly before his intended departure to Saudi Arabia.
In the same vein, Alhaji Lamin Rabi’u Danbappa also extended his heartfelt sympathy to the family of Alhaji Abubakar Sani, a pilgrim from Medile in Kumbotso Local Government Area, who went missing in Madinah.
The Director General described the deaths of Alhaji Sha’aibu Jibrin Gargai and Malam Ibrahim Ali as irreparable losses to the entire Muslim Ummah.
He encouraged the family of the missing pilgrim to intensify prayers for Allah’s guidance and mercy, praying that Alhaji Abubakar Sani will be found and that Allah will ease their distress.
Alhaji Lamin Rabi’u prayed to Almighty Allah to grant all the deceased eternal rest in Aljannatul Firdaus.
Earlier, the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Alhaji Yusif Lawan, stated that they visited Gargai and Tiga on behalf of the Executive Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, to condole with the bereaved families.
Alhaji Yusif Lawan noted that “God needs them more than we do,” and called on the families to remain united and steadfast in faith. He assured them of continued prayers and support.
On behalf of the Executive Governor, the Director General donated the following to each family for their immediate needs.
One bag of rice, One 50-liter container of groundnut oil, One carton of spaghetti.
One hundred thousand naira (₦100,000).
Alhaji Lamin Rabi’u Danbappa was accompanied by members of the Board, management staff, and several Local Government Hajj Center Officers.
