The National Association of Nigerian Students NANS has protested against the ASUU ongoing nationwide strike showing their annoyance over delay in students’ academics.
They urge the federal government And ASUU to bring a lasting solution to the strike, the students were singing solidarity songs against the action by the Academic Staff Union of Universities ASUU.
Yazid Tanko Mohammed who lead the protest said they were conducting the peaceful protest to convey their grievances on the ongoing strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities.
He said the strike was causing great setback on the educational sector, urging the federal government and Asuu to dialogue on the issue.
” We surfer whenever ASUU embarked on strike, we are calling on the federal government to expedite action in bringing an end to this lingering strike”
The permanent secretary Ministry of Higher Education Alhaji Dahiru Adda’u responded on behalf of the Commissioner said the ministry would convey their message to governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje for onward submission to President Mohammad Buhari.
The Permanent Secretary appreciated the manner and the mode in which the student conducted themselves during the peaceful protest.
