Governor Malam Dikko Radda of Katsina State has publicly expressed his frustration over the stalled completion of the Kano-Katsina Road.
Since assuming office, Governor Radda has been vigorously pursuing the road’s completion, taking his concerns directly to the Presidency and the National Assembly.
Governor Radda lamented the federal government’s uneven handling of the project, highlighting that compensation has been paid for the Kano section, while the Katsina section has been left to the state government to handle.
This neglect has stalled progress and placed an undue burden on the Katsina State government.
“I have tirelessly brought this issue to the attention of the Presidency and the National Assembly,” Governor Radda stated.
“It is unacceptable that the federal government has compensated the Kano section but abandoned the Katsina section.
This neglect undermines the development and connectivity of our region.”
The Kano-Katsina Road is a vital infrastructure project aimed at boosting economic activities and improving transportation between the two states.
However, the federal government’s selective compensation has left the project incomplete, causing significant inconvenience to commuters and affecting the local economy.
Governor Radda’s call for equitable treatment in federal projects resonates with many in Katsina State who feel marginalized.
The governor has vowed to continue pressing the issue until the federal government fulfills its obligations and ensures the road’s completion.
“The development of our state and the well-being of our people are at stake,” Radda asserted.
“We cannot accept partiality in projects that are crucial for our growth. The federal government must step up and provide the necessary compensation for the Katsina section.”
The governor’s remarks have sparked widespread support from Katsina residents, who hope that his persistent advocacy will finally lead to the completion of the long-awaited Kano-Katsina Road.
