The Managing Director of Kantin Kwari Market, Alhaji Hamisu Sa’ad Dogon Nama, highlighted the potential rapid economic growth for Kano if Emir Muhammadu Sanusi had not been dethroned.
This statement was made during a press conference held at his office to mark the one-year anniversary of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s tenure.
Expressing gratitude to the Governor for reinstating Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II, Alhaji Hamisu Sa’ad Dogon Nama praised Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for fulfilling one of his campaign promises Dr and demonstrating foresight in advancing the state.
Plans are underway to host a workshop for Kwari Market traders, drivers, and security personnel, including officers from various agencies like Kano Road Traffic Agency, Road Safety Officers, Nigeria Immigration Service, Civil Defence, and others. This initiative aims to enhance collaboration and promote orderliness within the market community.
With the rainy season approaching, the Managing Director urged all members of Kantin Kwari Market to maintain cleanliness by regularly sweeping drainages, waterways, and culverts to prevent flooding and water blockages within the market.
Alhaji Hamisu Sa’ad Dogon Nama shared challenges faced upon assuming leadership, including the dominance of foreigners over Kano natives in the market. Steps will be taken to address these issues and ensure fair opportunities for locals.
Lastly, he extended congratulations to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and Deputy Comrade Aminu Abdulsalam Gwarzo on their successful one year in office, while wishing them a productive and successful tenure ahead.
