Kaduna’s FRCN Struggles as Power Cuts Threaten Vital Information Flow

Katsina state government

Frustration mounts as Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) listeners in Kaduna call on the federal government to prioritize funding for media organizations.

They expressed disappointment over frequent power disconnections by Kaduna Electric Distribution Company (KEDCO), which they say is jeopardizing vital information flow.

Listeners, including Musa Mohammed Kawo, noted FRCN’s significant role in promoting unity and religious harmony nationwide.

Kawo emphasized the station’s importance in educating citizens on government policies, urging immediate action to prevent its collapse.

Despite the efforts of the Minister of Information and National Orientation, listeners like Mal Abdullahi Zaria believe more needs to be done.

Bello Soba, another concerned listener, was shocked to find the station off-air again and called for decisive measures to stop these disruptions.

This marks the fifth disconnection in a year, highlighting the urgent need for sustainable funding to ensure FRCN’s uninterrupted service.
