In a heartwarming act of interfaith solidarity, the General Overseer of Christ Evangelical and Life Intervention Ministry, Pastor (Dr.) Yohanna Buru, donated over 100 plastic kettles and praying mats to the newly constructed Tudun-Biri Mosque in Kaduna.
This gesture aims to support Muslim worshippers and foster harmony between Christians and Muslims in the state.
Pastor Dr yohanna Buru handed over the donations to sheikh Sunusi Ahmad Kutama of the Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi School in Kaduna.
The pastor emphasized that the church’s contribution is intended towards providing essential materials for the mosque and to promote good relations between the two religious communities.
“The church felt it was important to support the newly constructed mosque at Tudun-Biri,” said Pastor Buru. “We hope that this will help Muslim worshippers and promote peace and unity among us.”
He highlighted the church’s history of assisting mosques affected by disasters such as fires, windstorms, and other natural calamities for many years back.
Pastor Buru also praised the annual contributions of Hajiya Ramatu Tijjani, a Muslim woman who supports his church, widows, and orphans during Christmas and New Year celebrations to good things to his members
The christian cleric urged all Nigerian religious leaders to pray for the nation and work towards unity. “We must remember that we are one family under God,” he said. “We both follow holy books, (the Bible and the Quran), and believe in paradise and hell.We share a common ancestry in Adam and Eve and must be our brothers’ keepers.”
Receiving the items, Imam Sunusi Ahmad Kutama expressed his gratitude to Pastor Buru and his congregation.
He emphasized the importance of peaceful coexistence between Muslims and Christians and noted that the mosque would always remember this significant donation. Imam Kutama urged other citizens to emulate such gestures of unity.
Kaduna State Jama’atul Nasril Islam JNI also expressed delight over the church’s generosity,Representing the organization, Imam Ilyasu Hussaini, the Morshid, highlighted that this act of kindness aims to unite Muslims and Christians, thanking the church for its initiative.
Local resident Mallam Muhammadu Sani, popularly known as Mai Kokumba, expressed the Muslim community’s happiness and gratitude for the gifts.He thanked the Kaduna church for the donation and called on both Muslims and Christians to live together in peace and harmony.
