From Sani Gazas Chinade, Damaturu
The Kulen Allah Cattle Rearers Association of Nigeria (KACRAN) has applauded the leadership style and developmental strides of Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, describing his administration as a model of inclusive, compassionate and people-focused governance.
In a statement issued in Damaturu, KACRAN National Chairman, Khalid Muhammad Bello, said the “enviable achievements” recorded in Yobe State and on the national political stage over the past seven years are a direct reflection of Governor Buni’s rare leadership qualities.
“We recognise Governor Buni as a statesman of high calibre—a gentleman who treats all citizens with respect, dignity and empathy,” Bello said, noting that the governor’s political journey from Local Government Councillor and Speaker in Gujba Local Government Area to APC National Secretary and ultimately Governor of Yobe State reflects a lifetime of selfless public service.
KACRAN particularly commended Governor Buni’s decision in 2019 to relinquish a powerful national office to answer the call of the Yobe people. “That sacrifice speaks volumes about his character. It defines him as a leader who places the common man above personal ambition,” the association stressed.
The cattle rearers’ body said its assessment of the administration reveals a consistent emphasis on peace, human development and economic inclusion. According to the group, Yobe has emerged as a benchmark in governance, earning recognition beyond Nigeria’s borders.
Highlighting key milestones, KACRAN applauded Yobe State’s ranking as the leading state in the North East for basic healthcare delivery in 2026, a feat that attracted international recognition and performance-based support. The association also endorsed the state’s 2026 “Budget of Job Creation,” which earmarks billions of naira for the completion of modern markets in Damaturu, Potiskum, Gashua, Nguru and Geidam—projects described as vital to tackling unemployment and boosting local commerce.
Equally significant, the group praised Governor Buni’s partnership with L-PRES and other international development agencies to modernise livestock development, a sector it said remains the economic lifeline of thousands of pastoral families across the state.
KACRAN further congratulated Governor Buni on his recent appointment by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as Chairman of the APC Committee on Strategy, Conflict Resolution and Mobilisation, describing the role as well deserved.
“This appointment confirms what we in KACRAN have always known,” the association concluded, “that Governor Mai Mala Buni is among the few leaders whose overriding concern remains the peace, unity and progress of Nigeria.”
