The Kulen Allah Cattle Rearers Association of Nigeria (KACRAN) has expressed profound appreciation for the North East Development Commission (NEDC) following its recently concluded extensive month-long inspection of developmental projects across the northeast region.
In a press statement by Khalid Muhammad Bello the national president of the association said that in the realm of public service, a comprehensive inspection is the ultimate litmus test for accountability.
The willingness of the NEDC leadership to conduct a transparent, high-level tour of ongoing and completed works confirms that the Commission is not merely awarding contracts, but ensuring that every Naira spent translates into high-quality, tangible results for the people of the region and Nigerians.
KACRAN notes that the “boldness and pride” displayed by the Commission during these inspections signify that the projects are substantial, standard-compliant and commensurate with the funds allocated.
Of particular importance to our members are the various water and animal husbandry services projects specifically designed for North East pastoralists.
These initiatives are vital for the survival and growth of the livestock industry. “We are heartened by the Commission’s promise to expand these water projects in the coming year.

Enhance national food security and nutrition.
“Reduce the multi-billion dollar annual drain on foreign exchange caused by dairy and meat imports. Position Nigeria as a net exporter of livestock products to boost the national economy.”
The high-level composition of the inspection team — which included the Chairman of the NEDC Governing Board, the Managing Director, and Directors of Finance, Operations and Humanitarian affairs — underscores the seriousness of this exercise.
Accompanied by members of the press for nearly 30 days, the team has meticulously verified projects ranging from Strategic roads, bridges and drainage systems.
Primary healthcare centers and educational facilities; Specialized water points for livestock and distribution of essential relief materials for IDPs.
KACRAN views the NEDC as a model of sincerity and diligence in Nigerian public service. “We commend the entire management and staff for their sacrifices and their unwavering commitment to the rehabilitation of the North East.
“We conclude by ardently calling Mr. President to ensure the adequate and timely release of funds to the NEDC. This will empower the Commission to sustain its extraordinary work in infrastructure provision, livestock development, humanitarian services, peace promotion, and nation-building.”
