The Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mr. Abubakar Malami has urged journalists to refrain from publishing fake news, hate speeches and libelous reports that would be capable of inciting violence before, during and after the forthcoming 2023 general election.
Mr. Malami stated this at the 2021 Media Conference, organised by the National Association of Judiciary Correspondents, NAJUC, in Abuja.
The AGF said the conference was an indication that NAJUC was working towards positive impact in democratic process and nation building.
The AGF expressed appreciation to judiciary reporters, adding that their reports had culminated into the positive portrayals of the landslide and laudable accomplishments of the Justice sector and by extension, the Federal Government.
Earlier, the Chairman NAJUC, Mr. Kayode Lawal said the conference was part of concerted effort to train, retrain and build capacity of judiciary correspondents to enhance their reportage.
