Russian President Vladimir Putin, in his first statement addressing the situation in Syria, has firmly stated that Russia has not been defeated in the war-torn country.

Speaking on the nation’s involvement, Putin remarked, “We came to prevent a terrorist enclave from emerging there, and overall we have achieved our goals.”

Highlighting key developments, he disclosed that Russia facilitated the evacuation of 4,000 Iranian fighters to Tehran and emphasized the strategic utility of the Khmeimim and Tartus bases for humanitarian aid delivery to Syria.

Reflecting on pivotal battles, Putin revealed the use of 350 Russian fighters in the capture of Aleppo while noting that 30,000 Syrian government troops and pro-Iranian units retreated without resistance during critical moments.
