Tragedy struck in Nigeria’s North-East as suspected ISWAP fighters launched a deadly midnight assault on a police formation in Nghanzai, killing four officers in a fierce gun battle.

Security sources confirmed that the attack on the Divisional Police Headquarters occurred around 1:00 a.m. on April 4, correcting earlier reports on the timing of the incident.

The heavily armed insurgents reportedly stormed the facility in large numbers, engaging personnel in a prolonged exchange of fire before overpowering the station.
