Israel’s Defence Minister, Israel Katz, has declared that Hezbollah “will pay a heavy price” for shelling Israeli territory, dramatically escalating tensions along the northern border.
In a blistering statement, Katz announced that Naim Qassem, Secretary-General of Hezbollah, is now a designated target for elimination, accusing him of ordering the attack under pressure from Iran.
The threat signals a dangerous new phase in the Israel-Lebanon confrontation, with fears mounting of a broader regional flare-up.
