Tehran, June 16, 2025 — In a dramatic geopolitical twist, Iran has issued a bold call for the creation of an “Islamic Army” — uniting military forces from Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, and other Muslim nations.
The provocative proposal was made by top Iranian official and former IRGC commander Mohsen Rezaee, who declared:
“We want to form an Islamic army with Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, and several other countries.”
Rezaee described the envisioned force as a “strategic alliance of Muslim strength” meant to confront regional and global challenges. The timing of the statement — amid ongoing Middle East tensions — has raised eyebrows among international observers and drawn mixed reactions across the Muslim world.
While details remain sketchy, the idea of such a coalition could dramatically reshape alliances, military balances, and the broader security architecture of the region.
Diplomatic channels in Ankara, Riyadh, and Islamabad have yet to officially respond to the overture. However, analysts warn the initiative may deepen divisions or spark new alignments, depending on how it unfolds.
