The Director General Institute for Peace and Conflict Resolution IPCR, Dr. Bakut Bakut says ending violent extremism in Nigeria requires a clear assessment of its causes through a holistic institutional approach.
He stated this in Abuja at a public presentation of a book entitled ” Preventing and countering Violent Extremism in Nigeria, compiled by the IPCR.
Dr. Bakut said the book leverage on the knowledge of some Institutions and experts to interrogate the issues of preventing and countering violent Extremism in Nigeria.
The Vice Chancellor Karl Kumm University,Vom Plateau state Professor Audu Gambo who also the book reviewer said the book would serve as a reference material at all levels of education.
The Director Research and Policy Analysis IPCR, Dr. Joseph Ochogwu explained that the institute would collaborate with stakeholders especially the media towards sensitizing Nigerians to end violent Extremism.
The 19 chapter book is a collection of different approaches by government agencies on preventing and countering violent Extremism in Nigeria.
