The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has postponed the planned nationwide voter revalidation exercise until after the 2027 General Elections.
The decision was reached at a meeting with Resident Electoral Commissioners on Friday, as the Commission reviewed preparations ahead of the polls.
INEC said the exercise—designed to clean up the voter register, eliminate duplicates, and update records—remains vital but will now be conducted after the elections.
The Commission reassured Nigerians of its commitment to delivering free, fair, credible, and inclusive elections despite the shift in schedule.
