The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has formally recognised former Senate President, David Mark, as the new National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
In the same breath, former Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, has been confirmed as the party’s National Secretary.
The acknowledgment by INEC marks a significant shift in the ADC’s leadership structure, injecting seasoned political heavyweights into the fold. Analysts say the move could reposition the party ahead of the 2027 general elections, potentially boosting its influence in Nigeria’s crowded political landscape.
With Mark’s legislative experience and Aregbesola’s administrative background, political observers are closely watching how this new pairing will reshape the fortunes of the ADC in the months to come.
